Made in the highlands of the Sierra Madre Occidental, Raicilla is a spirit with a fascinating story that shaped the culture of our region.
With hundreds of years in history, techniques that where passed on from generations this artisan spirit highlights the floral characteristics of the Maximiliana agave, commonly known as Lechuguilla, which grows wild in our Sierra Madre.
From the heart of the agave surfaces a bouquet of light citrus and floral aromas, while smoky and sweet contrast compliments a complex sensorial ride.
In comparison to other agave spirits, Raicilla could be considered the most fragrant and floral spirit of the family.
Ninfa was born from a passionate family of locals whose roots date back prior the spanish occupation in the Sierra Madre Occidental.
The Galindo & Sons owners of an hacienda in the mountains of San Sebastian del Oeste, a 16th century mining village decided to continue with the crafting tradition inherited from the older generations. Today the family and a team of botanists study and protect the wild agaves and other endangered species that live in the cloud forest, surrounding an important natural preserve, only harvesting matured wild agaves limiting only to a sustainable number of them, the harvest of 2017 resulted in an excellent batch of only 2,500 bottles.
Our vision is to hand craft a sustainable, limited edition Raicilla that can be a fair representation of the spirit, culture & traditions that surround our mountains.
